Brief Description
To find and fix an error.
How to Talk About This Term with Young Children
Debugging is a process of finding and removing errors or malfunctions in a code. With young children, we might talk about debugging with simple errors like pretending to put shoes on before socks.
“Hmm, I put the baby’s shoes on, but now their socks don’t fit. What should we do?” After children fix the error, you might reinforce by saying “You did it! That’s called debugging. Finding an error and fixing it!”
