How to Talk About This Term with Young Children

For States of Matter: Encourage children to notice how something like water changes after being frozen. What’s similar? What’s different? What do they think will happen with the ice warms up? Why?

For Weather: When the temperature is so cold water freezes into ice. “The temperature is so cold, the pond has turned to ice! It’s freezing.”
