How to Talk About This Term with Young Children

For Forces and Motion: Encourage children to notice the difference in how light and heavy objects feel. Would it take more or less force (or pushing power) to move a heavy box or a light box? For Structure and Properties: Things that are light are often easier to lift. Encourage children to notice the weight of objects and how this affects the way they interact with these objects. Is a swing light or heavy? What about a house? Why would we want some things to be heavy and some things to be light?
